Sweat Is Best

What in the fuck are the benefits of sweating?  And I am asking this from a Black Woman's stand; our hair HATES sweat, (pause, I don't do my hair regularly -- but still).  I embarked on a search to find out what the benefits of sweating could possibly be?  I have been sweating profusely all day in this 91+ degree ass weather, working outdoors in my yard as if I'm picking my daily requirement of cotton.

Sweating according to three fat chicks on a diet "Sweating has many health benefits. As a person sweats, it removes toxins and disease out of the body. The kidneys can take up to 24 hours to remove harmful toxins like lead and mercury out of the body, while sweating removes these metals much faster.  Sweating can also rid the body of harmful substances like alcohol, cholesterol and salt. Research as found that as much as thirty percent of the body’s wasted is eliminated through sweat." Pause!  So I can shit less if I sweat more?  Nope, read on. "fat becomes water-soluable and exits the body through sweat."

Well, nappy hair don't care; so the next time I sweat I will pretend my hair is just 'shower wet'; there are weeds to pull tomorrow, yet and still so sweat is my best bet!

Bad Habits Don't Exist

(This post has been syndicated on The Life Daily Great Site Check it out)

Bad habits are nothing more than useless personality traits in disguise Everyone has a habit or two that I am sure they can stand to shake; however conformity leads us to believe it is "okay" to keep up with those habits; just so as long as you admit (to everyone around you) that you have a "bad habit".  And this is because people don't want to put forth the effort to change, or not be a part of what "everyone else is doing"; but what if your bad habits changed effortlessly?  Some of mine have!

This Low Carb lifestyle is eliminating some of my sociologically described "bad habits" without me even putting forth any effort.  For example I have $250.00 more than I typically do this time of the month; and I keep thinking I forgot to pay a bill.  I have triple checked and all my bills are paid.  So where did this generous windfall come from?  Ohhhh yeah, I know my "bad habit" being too lazy to cook and choices in dining out.  I have only dined out three times since I embarked on this Low Carb journey.  And only two times did I pay; of times I paid my total with tip was under $20.00.

In an average week before I began a low carb lifestyle I'm sure I spent close to $100.00 eating in restaurants, driving through fast food places and randomly grabbing a candy bar or bag of chips at the party store.  So how was it so acceptable to eat out everyday?  Smash fast food and coney dogs?  Munch on chocolate and chips?  I must have figured like everyone else: It's okay, to do it if I pronounce that "this is a bad habit" before, during or after I did it!

The farther I am going into this journey I am seeing what an epic fail people are when it comes to actually putting forth effort for themselves.  I am not talking about effort to gain recognition; I am talking about effort to gain self worth.  Now, I am nooooo saint by any means; but the fog is clearing and it is my realization that I do not have any "bad habits".  I just have made bad choices. Now time to "Do Better" for me.  And, pretty much middle finger to the air for your approval.  Oh, and I approve of this post! Hahahahahahhahha.

Smooches!

PS: (Check yourself, I bet some of your bad habits are just socially charged conformist approved standards.)

Faith

For the written record: I am no Holy Roller (by far) but you know what? Yupper, I have Faith.  Properly maintaining this Low Carb, Atkins Lifestyle Diet let me tell you I am learning -- I gotta have faith, faith, faith -- oh baby yeah! (George Michael's Voice).

Good thing I have my reference guide (Atkins New Diet Revolution) to read and refer back to when I question "why cheese on everything is simply, Okay".  And "why I can eat as much as I want, as long as I don't have complex carbohydrates and minimize my natural carbohydrates".  The Trinity of Saint Atkins (Dr. Robert C. Atkins), Goddess of Exercise and Mistress of the Cheeses are my where my faith is landing.

Faith pays off in such a large return.  It will be a pleasant surprise to wake up one random day and realize none of the things in my closet fit because they are all falling off me, that my vital signs are within the perfection range (which I currently have no problems with), that I am energized with glowing skin and a trail of men following behind me.  And then, on that day will I be really glad that I had faith from the start.

I knew I liked George Michael for a reason way back then!  He already knew I gotta have faith, faith, faith.

Now sing with me (To the tune of George Michael Faith released October 1987) -- lyrics changed to reflect my fat asses FAITH...

Fatty
I know you're asking me to stay
Say please, please, please, don't go away
You say I'm giving you the blues
Maybe
You mean every word you say
Can't help but think of yesterday
And another who tied me down to fat folks rules

Before this fat
Becomes obesity
Before you throw my fat clothes on the floor
Oh baby I reconsider
My foolish notion
Well I need someone to mold me
But I'll wait for something more

'Cause I gotta have faith...

My Little Piggys Thank Me for These Shoes

Like I said, I have been walking approximately 2 miles daily. So I bought myself these shoes meant for walking.

Rock N Fit Pod Shoes
The advertisement claim the shoes help tone and tighten.  We will see about that!  However they have proven to be the utmost in comfort.  These lace ups have a pod bottom, leather upper, rubber out-sole, and a mesh lining.  They are light weight and very comfortable.   Well time for me to lace them up and get with my stride!

Fat Ass Update (7/8/11)

A quick update, this (work) week has been a successful journey for the eating portion.  I still have not managed to kick my wine habit but it has decreased.

Food Choices
Walgreens really needs to stop putting this Liberty Chardonnay on sale for a mere $5.49 for the bigger bottle.  I have not ingested any foods or beverages not on the induction list of the Atkins diet (except wine).  Today however, I will have some sort of orange juice or grapefruit since I feel like I am catching a lovely summer cold.

Clothes
I did not notice too many clothes fitting much differently other than the pants I wore on Monday; which looked great on me by the way. I have been a lazy dresser this week so not really much in the fashion update department.  I am wearing my coined "Friday" jeans today.  I am determined to wear these jeans every Friday as a guide to see how they are fitting differently.

How I Feel
Feeling great, more energy (except at work -- which is a mind over matter thing -- I think I need to take a vacation.) I haven't felt bloated in about 2 weeks, even the typical "monthly bloating" was substantially different.  My fat rolls are feeling softer more like cotton balls than a bouncing ball.

The change is a slow process, I didn't get fat over night and I am sticking with it! Can hardly wait to re-evaluate myself this time next week.

Cheaters Suck!

I don't cheat on my men (I keep a harem).  And I don't cheat on myself (I catch me all the time).  So why in the hell would I have the urge today to cheat on my new Diet (way of life)???

The clock ticked as I was at the office, I had already had my 2 boiled eggs for breakfast; and a slice of swiss cheese for morning snack.  I was not hungry; however the urge to go grab some chili cheese fries was unimaginable.  I could taste them, feel them, see them, even knew exactly how much I was going to tip the waitress for them.  Buttttttt, my fat ass resisted.

My arm of guard today was the pants I had on; which were 2 sizes too small, that I selected this morning.  Too small pants hurt!  They are not comfortable and they induce the muffin top state of frame.  So I settled for my leftovers from lunch a few days ago, grilled chicken with cheddar cheese and onions.  Since I went home for the first part of lunch I sliced some tomatoes and added some grilled onions.  Topped with a slight bit of ranch; lunch was good.   I didn't get heart burn.  I didn't spend any money and best of all ... my palate was sexed.

Being the victim of a cheater must suck monster balls!  I mean cheaters almost always get discovered.  I refuse to cheat on me, will you cheat on you? Cheating sucks, and being cheated on sucks more!

#LowCarb, is a lifestyle -- day by day; let us pray to Saint Atkins ahahhhahaahhahaha

Oral Orgasm, Dinner is Served

Just when I didn't think it could get any better; I went balls to the wall in my kitchen and prepared a dinner that should be immediately served to the Low Carb masses!  I may even submit this recipe for the Nobel Peace Prize because, well hell, I feel sooo peaceful after devouring it.

This is a creation dinner.  I knew I wanted spinach and I knew I had shrimp soooo I started a culinary journey that left my taste buds in an post-orgasmic state.  Luckily I like to take pictures of food when I'm cooking so I will share the recipe now.  With some photos!

Sensational Spinach & Shrimp - My Recipe

Spinach is a great base for a Low Carb Dish, Pure Palate Sex! My Sensational Spinach & Shrimp

Today I took two packages of frozen chopped Spinach (I wanted to cook enough for lunch tomorrow.)  Put them in a medium size sauce pan with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1tsp. of butter, 1tsp. of Crushed Basil, 2tsp. of Garlic Powder, a few dashes of lemon pepper and fresh parsley.  Put over medium heat and let the spinach simmer for about 15 minutes, until it was tender.  Then I topped with about 1 3/4 lbs of shrimp mixed in with spinach, sprinkled with a little more garlic powder (I like garlic).  Covered and let it simmer until shrimp were totally done.  Then I stirred to mix shrimp and spinach evenly.  Lastly I added some fresh mushrooms which I sliced and just tossed in with the spinach and shrimp.  Once the mushrooms were done.  It was time to eat.  I garnished with some fresh green onion and Parmesan cheese.

Simply Orgasmic, I tell ya simply orgasmic.

LOW Carbs, HIGH Flavor!

I am not missing a single meal.  As a matter of fact I have even added Breakfast into the equation.  And I feel better than ever; as well as a noticeable decrease in my hunger. I eat what I want when I want.

Picture taken in the "prep" stage.

Shrimp Pasta-Less Salad: I made this recipe up the other day based a version of my mom's shrimp pasta salad; then upgraded it with some fresh herbs and carrots.
-Whole Medium Shrimp (amount to your desire)
-Diced Celery
-Diced Green Onions
-Match Stick Carrots
-Basil (Crushed)
-Fresh Parsley
-Boiled Egg
-Mayonnaise
-Dash of Lemon Pepper

Mix all ingredients to your liking and enjoy!

Good Ole Bacon & Eggs for Breakfast
I generally do not eat eggs, and I don't eat breakfast however to properly have a good new lifestyle breakfast is a must. So I gathered together my pride and settled for Scrambled Eggs with American Cheese and some VERY CRUNCH BAAAACOOONNNN (never more than 4 slices since I haven't yet found a brand that I didn't think was too salty).

Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese Cubes: A snack time favorite

See, I told you I have not been missing any flavors, as a matter of fact I am discovering new flavors daily!

Enjoy your next meal or snack, remember low carbs means better flavor discovery.

Noticeable Change!

I am excited to report 2 noticeable changes!!!

Foremost and most exciting: Yesterday, I threw my hands on my hips casually while watering the grass like I always do and, wait just a minute -- that little chunk of fatty tissue that has previously served as a resting shelf for my hip holding hand was gone.  I dropped the garden hose right there in my driveway and put both hands on my hips.  And what do you know, my shelves were gone.  I am not sure what this fatty area is called so I will call it upper booty hip fat.  Well its gone!

Have you ever noticed when you have on pants allllll day they start leaving impressions in your skin from sitting, standing or repetitive motion?  Well since I sit at work basically 8 hours a day except for minimal inner office walking, you end up with an indentation in your skin where the button, snap or fastener rest on your waist? Also yesterday I was not plagued with this problem.  A favorite pair of cargo style khaki's fit loser in the waist area, I was even able to tuck my shirt in confidently.

Small Changes toward my Big Reward, this is starting to feel good!  Motivated, yet again.

Reintroducing the Introduction -- Induction Again

For the next 14 days (actually 13 now since I started yesterday,) I am reintroducing the induction phase of my Low Carb lifestyle.  Like I said I traded my Grisham Latrine entertainment for Robert Atkins New Diet Revolution; and much to my surprise this book pretty candid and easy to read.

When I started on this quest two weeks ago I was fueled by thoughts of getting rid of fat.  I didn't want to end up with fat knees or DD back boobs drooping over the side of my bra straps.  This still holds true, however since I have always been overweight I did not think of the underlying problems caused by carrying an excessive amount of weight.  I do not have any cholesterol problems, blood pressure, heart or any other related illnesses but being overweight (as I have been reminded by Dr. Atkin's book) is  primary factor in the development many of these issues.

More than not wanting to be fat, I do not want to be unhealthy!  So following the proper phase one or induction phase, as written by Dr. Atkins (a cardiologist) I am reintroducing my introduction.  I am inducting and kicking higher because this chick will not only be thinner but I will also maintain a good healthy lifestyle! Check out the induction phase, it is simple.  CLICK HERE TO BE TAKEN TO Atkins Phase 1.

My Kisses are Sweet Enough! ... So Out Goes Sugar!

Thus far the easiest things for me to give up have been:

Soda / Pop and Juice-- I love Ice Cold Water so the pop is not an issue.  I have even been able to eat in restaurant's without ordering any sugary beverages!

In the order of Ease ... Dessert, Bread, Rice and Pasta -- I can't say I have ever felt marvelous after eating any of these foods!  As a matter of fact I have generally felt tired, lethargic and get this ... gassy!   After about the third day I didn't even miss mixing white rice with my dinner time fare.

This Week's Fails

As I approach week # 3's beginning I want to highlight the #EpicFails of this week:

The Dumbbell Workout Addition I had planned is an Epic Fail:  These frickin dumbbells are still sitting in my bedroom on the floor with the same dust on them as last week; and the week before, and perhaps just a bit more dust than the week prior to that.  However, if it makes any difference I did manage to think about the dumbbells every day! #Fail

Eating Breakfast proved even more of a challenge this week when I overslept damn near daily; and that is because of the next fail the wine. #Fail ...... Saturday and Sunday I did find time to make Bacon and Eggs!  Yummy.

Wine is wonderful! (who's idea was it to make it Carb Based?); don't you hate when you discover something soooo pleasing to the palate and have to sacrifice it?  Well I haven't taken the wine to the sacrificial alter just yet.  #Fail

Getting Rest is pivotal! I know this.  You know this.  Even the commercials for the mattress stores reinforce this; however due to "Wine", I have been getting limited sleep and having no time for breakfast.  #EPICFail ..... Side note: I did take a 4 hour nap on Sunday!

No shame in my game I have #Fail's also!!!

Knowledge Is Power

Nothing like something good to read while perched on the latrine!

Since I like to read, I figured why not break up with Grisham for a spell and try out Robert C. Atkins, M.D.  Since he's the no carb guru I figured I could learn a thing or two from him to help me with this plight.

I picked up this copy about 2 weeks ago while at a garage sale with my neighbor.  I paid $1.00 for it (a bit over priced -- but the seller was in luck, and she got my buck). I must say with only opening this book a few short minutes ago I have already learned just a bit.  I had no clue he wrote this book back in 1976 only to rewrite it in 1996.  Something must be right with this guy.

48 Hours -- and I havent gotten off my Fat Ass

Well on the good side I have ingested any Carbs.  And I even kick started my day yesterday with Scrambled Eggs w/ Cheese and 4 Slices of Bacon, (I suck at eating breakfast).  However I have yet to do one single ounce of exercise in the past 48 hours.  I really want to go on a nice long, paced walk however yesterday the temps were 98 degrees with 100 percent humidity.  Basically if I had gone a few feet I would have probably had a heat stroke.  Once it was time for the evening air to kick in Thunderstorms erupted and well outdoor walking foiled.  Not to mention my daughter had a friend over and her mom so I was not really able to break the conversations and jump on my recumbent bike to do a few miles.  And Friday I ran errands until 10pm.  Today I will do better.

Since today is Sunday, and the Weather Man has promised lower humidity and temps I will definitely get out there and pound the pavement  once the sun goes down.   Not to mention its yard work day -- so push mower again it is.

Bom Dia!

WaaaaTahhh Ahhhhhh

10 Great Reasons To Drink WaterI was surfing the net and came across this Blog Posting about water.  Great Post, it reminds me how important it is to drink plenty of water.  Just another thing that I am getting very used to.

What Will I Miss About Being Fat?

Each and every time I lose something I seem to miss something about it; no matter how strained the relationship.  So I am wondering what will I miss most about being Fat? I have compiled the below list:
  1. Cuts in line at Country Buffet because of my stature
  2. Buying Pants 2 sizes too big so I feel skinnier
  3. Hiding things in my love handles
  4. Having a cell phone case that is built in
  5. Wondering about the sturdiness of a chair
  6. Being able to relate to my fat friends sizes
I tried to get to 10 but somehow I cannot, therefore I don't really think I am going to miss being fat.

I'm Kicking,This Fat Girl's Ass!: Sweet Rewards

I'm Kicking,This Fat Girl's Ass!: Sweet Rewards: "There is nothing sweeter than a reward ... and to reward yourself is the sweetest! On all the diets I have been on, and epically fell off o..."

Sweet Rewards

There is nothing sweeter than a reward ... and to reward yourself is the sweetest!  On all the diets I have been on, and epically fell off of over the years; I have always rewarded myself with my favorite food item or a special craving like a Double Chocolate Brownie with Hot Fudge French Vanilla Ice Cream Drizzled with Carmel and topped with Whipped Cream oh and the Cherry! Never forget, the Cherry.  And this "said" "reward" after losing like 2 lbs! PITTY THE FOOL I HAVE BEEN!  I guess this is part of the reason I am still fat.

Today I Sweetly Rewarded my hard work over the past almost 2 weeks with a Sea Salt Pedicure.  And my pedicure was ever so AMAZING! My feet have been helping a lot in this plight we walk 2-4 miles every day not to mention the battery they take on when my fat ass puts on high heels, (these poor, poor, poor tootsies carrying around all this weight).

And after seeing sooooooo many fat people today I think the gluttonous thought of even eating a reward is a foregone conclusion.  From now on my rewards will be simple feel good measures.

In Reality ... I Still Have a Muffin Top

In reality I have not yet lost 10lbs or 6" off my waist line; but I must tell you this after being over half way to my two week mark of a very strict no carbs, high protein and fiber diet -- I feel amazing.  Physical changes will slowly take effect; but the physical changes to date are:
  • I Do Feel Less "Bloated" : you know that bloated feeling, the feeling that you just feel like a beached whale waiting on poachers to take your remains back to some third word country and create cheap toys and household goods with your blubber; which they then ship back to the U.S.A. as a turnkey product to sell at your local Dollar Store only for you to re-consume again.
My Fat Feels Softer : Ha! I even have to giggle a little bit at this.  Its true!  Squeezing into too tight clothing was less of a feat this week.  Today I wore a pair of Capri's when I stood up they were a bit snug but still comfy; however, when sitting they repositioned themselves right into my fat creating an uncomfortable transfer of fat from my lower half to my upper.  (Pretty Gross Huh) -- OK now I'm motivated again I was NOT comfortable all day.

    I ALMOST Gave Up Today

I almost gave up today.  What do I expect of one week of diet and exercise a fucking miracle?

There is no way in hell I can go from my current size / weight and measurements in one week to a drastically new me without the enlistment of Dr. 90210.  And because I cannot afford his surgical miracles, nor do I think I would survive the needles, pokes, prods, injections, suctions or incisions -- I guess will just stick to this diet.

Like I said, I almost gave up today, but hell almost doesn't count!
